Lenten Wednesday Potluck and Study

On Wednesday evenings in Lent we will gather for potlucks and discuss perhaps the best film ever made (in my opinion) on the life of Jesus and his first followers, “From Jesus to Christ; The First Christians.”  Each week we will be presented with the latest historical evidence and interviews with leading New Testament scholars.  While our focus is on the life of Jesus, we will also learn more about his first followers, the men and women whose belief, conviction, and martyrdom created a movement that transformed the Roman Empire. If you would like to do more reading on the subject, I encourage you to read From Jesus to Christianity by L. Michael White, a friend and chair of the department of religion at the University of Texas in Austin.
